Who we are

This website belongs to Ainslie Auto Repair & Sales Inc., 63 Water St N, Cambridge, ON N1R 3B3. We're responsible for how it handles personal information. This policy is written with Canada's private-sector privacy law (PIPEDA) in mind.

What we collect

Nothing you type. This site has no forms. It doesn't ask for your name, phone number, email or anything else, and there's nowhere to enter them. To book a repair or ask about a car, you call the shop or come in.

Our web host keeps basic technical logs, like IP address and browser type, for security and fixing problems. We only use them to keep the site safe and working. If that ever changes, we'll update this page first.

What we don't do

We don't sell, rent or trade your information. We don't add you to a mailing list or send marketing emails. We don't use advertising or tracking tools on this site.

Where it's stored

The website runs with a web host and a secure cloud database. The database holds the site's own content, like the cars for sale and the shop's hours, and only our staff can sign in to change it. It holds nothing about visitors.

These companies handle information for us and only to run this website. Some of them may store data on servers outside Canada, where the laws of that country apply.

Cookies

We don't use cookies to track you or show you ads. The only cookie we set is a sign-in cookie for staff who update the website, and regular visitors never get it.

Some pages show a Google Map. It's loaded from Google, and Google may set its own cookies when it loads. Their privacy policy applies to that part of the page. You can read Google's privacy policy on their site.

How long we keep it

The website doesn't keep anything about you, apart from the host's technical logs. When you call or come in about a repair or a car, what you tell us becomes part of that repair or sale record, and we keep those records as long as the law requires.

Seeing or fixing your information

You can ask to see what we have about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, unless we need to keep it as part of a repair or sale record. Call us at 519-624-6789, or ask in person at the shop. We'll get back to you within 30 days.

If you're not happy with how we handled it, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of the page. The rules for using the rest of the site are in our website terms.
